A full body massage robot eliminates labor cost in a massage salon and it eliminates all of the resistance people may have about going to a massage salon. It also makes it more convenient to go to a salon because you can go directly after work without having to take a shower first or even having to talk to a therapist. By rethinking the massage therapy experience, we have designed a robot that will preserve human dignity and become a partner in a person’s overall wellness program. The robot will relieve pain and stress as well as aid in recovery from surgery or sporting activities using an unlimited number of different accessory attachments to deliver kneading, rolling, vibration, heat, electric pulse and other therapeutic modalities. The robot is designed with a calibration algorithm that will allow users to share massage programs between different body sizes and shapes. Through social sharing of massage routines, users will benefit from friends, celebrities, and doctors who will make an unlimited number of massage programs so that users will never get bored, which is a common problem with massage chairs.
